Having prominent ears and being object of all kinds of comments can be undesirable in children as well as in adults. This correction is performed through an incision on the back surface of the ear from which the cartilage is molded and an appropriate outline is accomplished.
Ear surgery (Otoplasty) is a quick one hour procedure that require a recovery time of three days. In adults this procedure can be performed under local anesthesia, however, in children it might be necessary to perform it under general anesthesia.
I assess the kind of malformation I am going to improve and, according to that, I decide which surgical technique is the most convenient among the existing ones. Thus, I ensure a predictable outcome and a more natural aspect for each one of my patients.
